Your website might look fine to you, but that doesn’t mean it’s working. Here are five warning signs that your site could be turning potential customers away.
It takes forever to load. Every second counts. If your site takes more than three seconds to load, you’re losing visitors before they’ve even seen what you offer. Test your site on Google’s PageSpeed Insights and see where you stand.
It doesn’t work properly on phones. More than half of web traffic is mobile now. If your site is hard to navigate on a phone, requires pinching and zooming, or has buttons too small to tap, you’ve got a problem.
Your contact details are buried. If someone wants to get in touch, they shouldn’t have to hunt for your phone number or email. Make it obvious on every page.
It looks dated. Fair or not, people judge businesses by their websites. A site that looks like it was built in 2010 suggests a business that hasn’t moved with the times.
There’s no clear call to action. Every page should guide visitors toward doing something—buying, enquiring, booking, downloading. If your pages just sit there with no direction, visitors will drift away.
If any of these sound familiar, it might be time to talk about a refresh.
